Při slavnostním vyhlášení vítězů XVI. ročníku soutěže Grand Prix architektů byla jako každoročně předána také cena českému architektovi za významné celoživotní dílo. Laureáta navrhla Rada Obce architektů a stal se jím prof. Ing. arch. Jan Bočan (*1937). Čestnou cenu předal předseda Obce architektů Ing. arch. Oleg Haman.

The Jury of this year’s competition review known as “Grand Prix of Architects 2009” had a meeting in Prague on 14-17 May 2009 in the premises of the gallery café of the Veletrzni Palace (Museum of Modern Art).
The Jury consisted exclusively of foreign architects.
Altogether 101 projects in 7 categories were registered in the competition:
